Black Squirrel Farms and our affiliates collect and process the wild black walnuts that grow on our New York State land and those of other area growers.
Discover NYS black walnuts, North America's native walnut! Come hear the story of a tree that doesn’t grow in the woods and how it fits into our landscape. Consider the black walnut tree from a whole new perspective, learn about the history of black walnut processing, see our own approach and taste them yourself. Come experience how we are making this unique North American renewable resource more accessible, useful and appreciated. Tickets are $25 each (kids 8 and under free). Please book at least 24 hours in advance as it may not be possible to accommodate last-minute bookings.
Black Squirrel Farms is the home of the first licensed black walnut processing facility in NYS. Tours are outdoors, last an hour and fifteen minutes and may be rescheduled due to inclement weather. Choose an available date and time from the calendar below. Maximum 10 participants / tour. Private tours for group sizes of up to 10 participants are available for $175 each and custom times/dates may be possible. Reach out to emily@tylerseneca.com with inquiries. Discover NYS black walnuts! Black Squirrel Farms is focused on black walnuts, North America’s native walnut. We grow, collect and process black walnuts at the first 20-C licensed black walnut processing facility in New York State. We manage a black walnut collection program open to anyone with access to trees and we seasonally offer tours of our site focused on the history and future of the black walnut tree, a unique North American renewable resource.
